SERVICE ENGINEER, FIELD

 


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Engineer, Field is responsible for assisting the customer with the installation, operations, maintenance and repair of Company products, for a fee if out of warranty. FSE is also expected to assist in after sales revenue generation via paid service and parts sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assures equipment performance and provides technical advice.
  2. Train customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of Company products.
  3. Write reports and make suggestions regarding the functioning and acceptability of Company products. Submit reports on a timely basis.
  4. Monitor and report competitive activity.
  5. Keep current on new products and feature changes in existing products.
  6. Plan and maintain records on all phases of activity.
  7. Communicate with respective Marketing Representative or Senior Marketing Representative to share information gathered through all sources.
  8. Conduct training classes, as required.
  9. Maintain and control inventory in Company vehicle.
  10. Communicate and enforce authorized warranty policy.
  11. Conduct paid service call, as required.
  12. Monitor and report service/quality issues to St. Louis , RVP, and Marketing Representative in a timely manner.
  13. Schedule customer visits based on the actual customer need with input from respective Marketing Representative or Senior Marketing Representative. Coordinate with appropriate Marketing Representative on meeting customer needs.
  14. Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost efficient business solutions, and make process improvement suggestions to supervisor.
  15. Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
  16. Identify target accounts for additional parts sales penetration.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma plus additional specialized training equal to two years college or technical school. Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, preferred.

Experence

  • Minimum three to five years progressively responsible experience in a similar position.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles as they apply to the set-up, repair, and maintenance of Company products.
  • Proven analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience managing large geographical territory with overnight travel (up to 50%).
  • Good understanding of the vending industry.
  • Flexible with positive, outgoing attitude.
  • Creative in approach to problem solving.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
