MANAGER, AREA SUPPORT


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Area Support Manager is responsible working within an assigned territory assisting distributor and customer service personnel in the training installation, operation, and repair of Crane Merchandising Systems equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assures equipment performance and provides technical advice.
  2. Train Distributor and customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of Company products.
  3. Write reports and make suggestions regarding the functioning and acceptability of Company products. Submit reports on a timely basis.
  4. Conduct training classes, as required
  5. Keep current on new products and feature changes in existing products.
  6. Monitor and report service/quality issues to via designated methods in a timely manner.
  7. Schedule & Manage customer visits based on the actual customer need with input from respective Regional Sales Manager(s).
  8. Identify target accounts for additional parts or machines sales penetration.
  9. Plan and maintain records on all phases of activity.
  10. Communicate and enforce authorized warranty policy.
  11. Act as an authoritative “Voice of the Customer” in development and resolution of products and issues.
  12. Monitor and report competitive activity.
  13. Assist in the setup, support and breakdown of the company's trade show exhibits.
  14. Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost efficient business solutions, and make process improvement suggestions.
  15. Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School plus additional broad specialized training equal to two years college or technical school. Bachelor's degree, preferred.

Experence

  • Minimum three to five years progressively responsible experience in a similar position.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles as they apply to the set-up, repair, and maintenance of all types of vending equipment.
  • Proven analytical skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service and creative problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Experience managing large geographical territory with overnight travel (up to 70%).
  • Good understanding of the vending industry, preferably as a vending operator
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
