CMS Service Training Packages

Crane merchandising Systems is proud to offer a variety of training methods designed to meet the needs of our students. We will continue to offer our exclusive class room training conducted at our St. Louis headquarters and factory. And for 2002, we are adding an on line/CD ROM program described in greater detail elsewhere on this page. We also have plans for additional training approaches that will be announced later in 2002.

Multimedia Training Package

We recognize that it is not possible for some students to invest an entire week away from their normal duties. In order to provide the vending operator and service technician the highest quality of support possible, we have created our new multi-media service technician training package. Students can learn at their own pace and still perform their daily duties, minimizing impact to the vending operators business.

The package consists of 8 CD's covering 6 content modules: Basic Electronics, Common Components & Common Technologies, Snack & Refreshment Center, Hot Drink Center, Cold Drink Center, & Shoppertron. Also included is a CD containing all our active parts & set up manuals. Students also receive a training manual that is a companion to the content on the CD's. Our support team is continuously striving to improve our training offerings. The training package will be updated to support the ever growing selection of quality merchandising products from CRANE Merchandising Systems.

When a student has completed studying the material and is ready to test his/her knowledge, they will use the following process. They'll send in their registration card provided in the package to our training team. Our training administrator will assign a password and user I.D. required to access the testing suite at our testing site. This access will allow a student to take each of the module tests one time. The student is not required to take all six (6) if they are seeking CMS Certified Service Technician status, but students must pass the Basic Electronics and Common Components & Technologies, and one product specific module before achieving the CMS Certified Technician certification. Students that pass all modules will attain CMS Certified Service Professional status.

Students will be notified within 10 working days whether they have passed or failed the tests they have taken. If they have failed one or more modules, and need to retest, they will follow the process outlined in the prior paragraph. Students that have passed will be notified and awarded their certification. These results will also be posted on a password protected part of the Cranems.com website that only the student can access. Students can provide prospective employers with the access information so the employer can validate their certification.

CMS In-House Classroom Training

Crane Merchandising Systems built its reputation for industry leading training through its classroom training.

A combination of morning discussions followed by afternoon hands on work provides the optimum learning environment. A training manual and workbook are provided. Classes are small, allowing for maximum interaction with the teacher in an informal setting. An in-depth factory tour is included during the week long session allowing students an opportunity to see first hand how National Vendors products are built. The week concludes with an extensive test for knowledge and understanding.

Students that pass are awarded with the Crane Merchandising systems Certified Service Professional degree acknowledging their expertise. Whether used by the student as an enhancement to their resume or by the operator as an inducement for professional growth, the CMS Certified Service professional degree is worth the investment.
