Plant Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Plant Engineer is responsible for supervising maintenance and tool room personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop work schedules and delegate work assignments in order to meet quantity and quality standards.
  2. Design or direct the work to design and/or modify tooling and fixtures to be used on new and existing products.
  3. Troubleshoot maintenance problems.
  4. Responsible for all facilities maintenance to include physical buildings and equipment.
  5. Delegate and supervise employee efforts to repair buildings, equipment, and tools.
  6. Maintain Company safety standards to promote a safe and secure workplace.
  7. Order materials for tooling and maintenance projects.
  8. Coordinate tool room and maintenance projects.
  9. Maintain training and development plans for direct reports.
  10. Create an effective PM program.
  11. Facilitate the implementation of TPM programs.
  12. Develop and implement effective maintenance metrics to track progress and drive improvement.
  13. Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching innovative, cost efficient business solutions.
  14. Adhere to all Company policies, safeguard the company's interests and act in an ethical and legal manner as well as report all violations of Company policies and procedures to appropriate management.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: College degree or equivalent work experience, and CPMM certification preferred .

Experence

  • Minimum ten years multi-shift maintenance experience with a demonstrated track record of achievement and progression in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Experience with TPM as well as other lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, Standard work, etc)
  • Developing and implementing maintenance metrics (i.e. Mean Time to Repair, Mean Time to Failure, etc.)
  • Proficient in how to perform root cause analysis and failure and effect mode analysis
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing multiple tasks.
  • Experience in a union environment.
  • Been through cultural changes towards a high performance team
  • Proficient at how to present financial benefits of maintenance to upper management
